PPC Board of Directors Meeting – Tuesday, August 4 at 7 pm
We provide a reminder that the next Power Play Club Board of Directors meeting is scheduled for this coming Tuesday, August 4 at 7 p.m. Topics of the meeting will include finalizing the club's event schedule for 2026-2027. The meeting will be held online via Zoom and is open to all club members who were enrolled for the 2025-2026 season; please contact PPC president Bill Johnson (billjohnson013@gmail.com) or vice president Dave Malerich (dmalerich@yahoo.com) if you wish to attend.
Five Gophers invited to USA Hockey Women's National Festival;
Plosová, Mlýnková attending Czechia National Team camp
We send congratulations and wishes of good luck to Gopher Women's Hockey players Bella Fanale, Layla Hemp, Molly Jordan, Madison Kaiser and Ava Lindsay upon receiving invitations to the 2026 USA Hockey Women’s National Festival running August 2 through 9 in Lake Placid, New York. The quintet joins 41 other collegiate players vying for positions on the 25-member U.S. Collegiate Select Team which will face their Canadian counterparts in three games on August 12, 13 and 15 in Richmond, British Columbia; the USA roster will be announced at the end of camp.
In addition to the "over 18" players, another 46 underage players will be attending the Under-18 Women’s National Festival in hopes of making the U.S. Under-18 Select Team roster. That team will also face Canada in Richmond, B.C. on August 12, 13 and 15. Gopher Women's Hockey head coach Boom May will be serving as an assistant coach for that camp and series, with Gopher alumna Courtney Kennedy as head coach of the U.S. Under-18 Selects.
Roster announcements by Hockey Canada are expected in the coming days.
Plosová, Mlýnková attending Czech National Team camp – Meanwhile, current Gopher Tereza Plosová and alumna Natálie Mlýnková are in the Czech city of Chomutov, attending the Czechia National Team's season-opening camp under new head coach Brian Idalski. The two Gophers were among a total of forty-six (46) players invited to the camp, which started this past Friday, July 24 and runs through tomorrow, Thursday, July 30.
Gophers release team roster for 2026-2027 season!!
The Gopher Women's Hockey team released its 2026-2027 team roster last Wednesday as the program's 30th season of varsity competition approaches. The team spotlighted the jersey numbers of the nine new Gopher players on Facebook and X.
We send a special shout-out to forward Madison Kaiser, who will return to the Gophers for a fifth year. We additionally send a hearty welcome back to forward Sarah Paul upon her return from injury.
