Gophers' season ends with loss to Northeastern

Minnesota Women's Hockey season came to an end as Northeastern built a 4-0 lead and withstood a Gopher comeback attempt in their NCAA Women's National Collegiate Tournament quarterfinal at Ridder Arena.  Huskies goaltender Lisa Jönsson stopped 45 of 47 shots, including the first 41 she faced, to get the 4-2 victory.

Éloïse Caron tallied a goal & an assist in the first period for Northeastern as they lit the lamp three times on their first 9 shots to chase Minnesota starting netminder Hannah Clark.  Another goal by the Huskies in the second period extended their lead to four.  The Gopher offense was unable to find the back of the net until Abbey Murphy scored on the power play with 8:50 remaining in regulation.  Murphy lit the lamp again on a 6-on-4 power-play with the extra attacker, but it came with only 1:31 to play and time ran out on Minnesota's season.  Sydney Morrow assisted on both Gopher goals, and Layla Hemp made 14 saves in relief.

The Gophers finish with an overall record of 26-12-1.
