Gophers add transfers Allard & Schalin to roster for 2026-2027
Gopher Women's Hockey head coach Boom May announced yesterday the transfer signings of Ashley Allard and Julia Schalin to the team roster for the 2026-2027 season.
Allard joins the Gophers after three years at UConn. She recorded career highs with 10 goals, 18 assists, and 28 points in 2025-2026, along with a +21 plus-minus rating. Over her collegiate tenure, the Ottawa, ON, native has 70 points on 23 goals and 47 assists, being named a Hockey East Third Team All-Star following her sophomore season and also earning Hockey East All-Academic honors.
Schalin, a native of Espoo, Finland, comes to Minnesota after two years at Mercyhurst, where she posted back-to-back 30+ point seasons on a combined 23 goals and 40 assists. She was also a member of the 2026 Finland Olympic Team this past February, recording an assist in their game against Czechia. Schalin was named AHA Rookie of the Year in 2024-2025 after tallying 14 goals & 18 assists.
Allard and Schalin will join fellow transfer Lauren Goldsworthy in Minneapolis this fall. The program also previously named Sloane Hartmetz, Maddie McCullough, Adrianna Milani, Rachel Piggott, Payton Rolli and Katya Sander as incoming freshmen for 2026-2027.
