PPC Board of Directors meeting – Tuesday, April 14 at 7 p.m.
The first 2026 off-season meeting of the Power Play Club's Board of Directors is scheduled for next Tuesday evening, April 14, at 7 p.m. online via Zoom. The main topics will be the GWH coaching change and the report of the board's technology subcommittee (as we look to reduce expenses).
Board meetings are open to all club members enrolled in the past season, including those in either the Locker Sponsor or Base Membership tiers. Please contact PPC president Bill Johnson (billjohnson013@gmail.com) or vice president Dave Malerich (dmalerich@yahoo.com) if you wish to attend.

Murphy, Morrow honored as All-USCHO Team selections
A pair of Gopher Women's Hockey players received more national recognition as Abbey Murphy & Sydney Morrow were named to U.S. College Hockey Online's All-USCHO Teams this past Friday!!
Murphy was named to the All-USCHO First Team following her 66-point season, including 40 goals, 26 assists, and a +35 rating in just 31 games, pacing the nation with 1.29 goals per game and 2.13 points per game. She also totaled nine power-play goals and one short-handed score. Murphy finished her tenure in Maroon & Gold as Minnesota's all-time leading goal scorer, finding the back of the net 143 times in her career.
Morrow was honored as an All-USCHO Second Team selection after finishing the season with 38 points on eight goals and 30 assists in 39 games, ranking second among all NCAA defenders in both points and assists. She posted a +33 rating and recorded 57 blocked shots. She previously earned a Second Team All-America honor after her sophomore season (2023-2024) as a member of the Colgate University Raiders.

Gophers sign transfer Lauren Goldsworthy for 2026-2027
Head coach Boom May and the Gopher Women's Hockey team announced yesterday the signing of transfer defender Lauren Goldsworthy, who will join the Maroon & Gold this fall as a junior.
Goldsworthy, a Minnetonka native and Minnetonka H.S. alumna, comes to the U. after two seasons playing at Minnesota State in Mankato. In 75 career games with MSU, she recorded 17 points on 8 goals & 9 assists – including 7 goals & 5 assists this past year – with two game-winning tallies and 60 blocks at the defensive end.

Emma Kreisz named to Hungary National Team roster for upcoming IIHF Women's Division I Group A Championship
We send wishes of good luck to Gopher Women's Hockey junior forward Emma Kreisz as she was named to the Hungary National Team roster on March 24 for the 2026 IIHF Women's Division I Group A Championship being played on their home ice in Budapest next week.
In addition to the host Hungarians, the tournament features the national teams of China, France, Italy, Norway & Slovakia. The 15-game round-robin schedule runs from April 12 through 18, with the top-finishing team set to advance to the 2027 IIHF Women's World Championship's top division.
