Celebrating Over 25 Years of Gopher Women’s Hockey

Continuing the tradition of excellence on and off the ice

In 2021, the Power Play Club announced a two-year campaign to raise $150,000 to benefit Gopher Women’s Hockey. Last season we raised more than than $140,000!

Our goal for the 2023-24 season is $67,500. Please join us in supporting this championship-winning program and its incredible student athletes.

There are many ways to contribute:

  •  Pledge a donation through the 2023-24 Goals for a Goal.

  •  Give a one-time gift.

  • Support Gopher Women's Hockey on Give to the Max Day - coming up again in November 2024.

We send a very hearty and gracious thank you to everyone who contributed to our Give to the 2023 Max Day fundraiser.  Our GTMD objective for full matching and the extended goal were both reached in the mid-afternoon, and as of 8:30 p.m. on November 16th we had raised (including the match) $19,325 !!

  • Gopher Women's Hockey online auction

Our thanks to everyone who submitted a bid to the Gophers Women's Hockey 2024 online auction. After expenses, a net of $2,256 was raised by the Golden Gopher Fund for the team, going into the Women's Hockey Enhancement Fund!

    We appreciate your support!

Funds raised will go to support...

    • Ridder Arena updates, such as the redesigned displays in the lower level outside the Gopher locker room.

    • Other expenses beyond the team's normal operating budget, such as extra travel costs for the D1 In DC Showcase later this month.

     Go Gophers!

“My late husband and I always looked forward to winter in Minnesota strictly because of Gopher Women's Hockey. I've been proud to be a fan of the team and proud of the teams over the years, on and off the ice. My favorite season would be the 41-0 season, for obvious reasons. Gopher Women's Hockey is like a family to me as the fan base is so wonderful and over the years there have been so many close and wonderful friendships made just by being fans of the team.”

“As a longtime Gopher Men’s Hockey season ticket holder I first became interested in the women’s program during the 2002-03 season, when both Krissy Wendell and Natalie Darwitz joined the team as freshmen. It was so fun to witness their superb skills on display! I soon began to appreciate just how talented so many of the other Gopher women were. I decided early on to purchase a pair of season tickets.”
